David Comtois
David Comtois is the Founder and Managing Director at JDL Immigration Limited in Toronto, with more than 12 years of Canadian immigration experience. He assists clients on complex Canadian temporary and permanent residence immigration matters across the private client spectrum.
David works with high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs and third-party collaborators in the private wealth and Canadian start-up space. Having advised and assisted on hundreds of Start-Up Visa applications since the early years of the program in 2015, and having navigated every single iteration of the program since its inception as a pilot, David has developed broad and in-depth expertise regarding SUV, becoming one of the program’s premier lawyers.
Prior to founding JDL Immigration Limited, David has worked in the Hong Kong office of an international immigration firm, where he advised clients across Asia on investment immigration solutions, providing tailored strategies for residency by investment and entrepreneurship-based programs such as the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program, the Quebec Entrepreneur Program, the Start-Up Visa Program.

More recently, David has acted as Senior Associate at the oldest immigration law firm in Canada within the Permanent Residence and Start-Up Visa practice groups, bolstering the firm’s SUV expertise and private client practice.
